Pub Night With Vice, Virtue & Grace

Struggled with some companions the other day-- some of my old ones...

Fear, anxiety... like two steady, loyal irritants you might say.  I don’t like them much but they hang out at the same pub as me... always there and always present... regulars you might say....they typically bring along other struggling friends... pals of the first two...self sufficiency and worry… they like to show up and buy a round... before I know it, resentment and comparison come in for a nightcap.... they’re real pissy guys but again always in for a good time...

what’s apparent is that once one is entertained and in company, the others are soon to follow...they like to hang together...

The antidote is to “invite” another friend...You... and then your pals, trust, joy, contentment, gentleness and peace typically come along and the table is full...

It’s not that the others disappear but the conversations and interactions change...even if they get loud, there is this calm that makes them less noisy and it all settles into a more balanced time.

Just have to remember who to invite…
