The Rich Man

I was introduced to a very Rich Man the other day

You would know him easily by the products he has made

He was exceptionally kind with both a warm smile and kind eyes

He shared his story of how his business started

When few people knew about him or the products he made

He said it wasn’t easy but he looked back on those days fondly

It made him appreciate things today that much more

He was calm and very much at peace

He never mentioned God once

It made me wonder what in the world I could say to make him think that he needed a Saviour

That somehow this offer would be something he would consider

How would he feel about “selling his possessions”?

And what would he think about a “camel going through the eye of a needle?”

What did I have that this man could possibly want?

Would I dare to let him know that maybe I would like to have what he has?

Just to know what it would be like

Just to see if being that rich doesn’t really make peoplen that happy

Like people in my faith always like to say

I said none of those things as he shook my hand and walked away

I couldn’t help but think— he could probably convince me that he didn’t need a Saviour

More than I could convince him that he did.
